Even though it became painfully obvious a while back that Crocs wasn't going to bring the Ace Golf Shoe back, there is comfort on the horizon for those who wear it to take comfort. Hank Haney: yes, HANK HANEY! - Has partnered with Crocs to produce and market a golf shoe. For my part, I am eagerly awaiting these shoes. And for those of you who can't stand the look of normal Crocs, Hank Haney models are more like the ECCO Street Premier shoes that Freddy Couples made famous a few years ago. The Crocs website has more information.
I have tried Foot Joys (Green Joys, Dry Joys, Athletic Joys, Sandals, etc.), Bite, Dexter, Nike, Tommy Bahama, Calaway, Adidas, Rockport, Oakley and Etonic golf shoes. I have tested metal spikes, plastic spikes and no spikes.
For the most part, the athletics seem to have been the most comfortable. But the traditional Bites and Adidas golf shoes have been my favorites.
Recently (2009), however, I bought the most comfortable golf shoe I have ever had ... Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the Crocs Ace Golf Shoe!
Okay, okay, I know ... they are a little ugly. They are not traditional. They are made of plastic (it's actually called Croslite). The look of shoes that a former radical from the 60s who lives in a dome on a university campus would wear.
But they are very light in weight. They conform to your feet (and have internal protrusions that massage your feet while you walk, or so the company says). They have surprisingly good traction. The toe box is so large that the feet can expand as the round progresses. And if you wear socks with them (which I do) they are as tight as you need. There are no shoelaces. Instead, tighten the shoe by adjusting the heel strap with Velcro.
Unlike typical Crocs, the Ace Golf Shoe has no vents on the sides. That was smart of the R&D folks at Crocs because their feet don't get wet in the morning rounds where the dew still covers the ground. The sand also does not make its way into the sole of the shoe if you are unlucky enough to hit the รีวิวรองเท้า.
In case they get sandy or overgrown with grass, just take off your shoes and dispose of the unwanted debris. You can also pour them in water for a quick wash, and since the material they're made from is antimicrobial, there's no danger of bad shoe odor being terrible.
There are a series of vents at the top that form a forward-facing triangle shape, effectively assisting one with alignment.
Ace golf shoes have a slightly more solid or resistant sole than typical Crocs. Molded into the harder sole are eight "spikes" (five on the forefoot and three on the heel) and numerous mini spikes. Molded tips are not interchangeable, so when worn they can no longer be used as golf shoes. But since the sole does not leave marks and they are so comfortable that you can continue to use them in those outdoor concerts Jimmy Buffet or The Dead.
In the end, no matter what people think (my kids hate them and don't like it when I wear them in public!), It's all about comfort and stability. The Crocs Ace offers both, and at less than $ 40, very easy on the budget.
